photo update!!!

Okay… I've finally been organised to put some photos up…

What has been happening?

At the start of the week I did a walk-through electrical inspection with our temporary SS (who was just lovely btw).

That went well. I slightly changed a few light and power points. He said after the ceiling is on we will do it again for some down light and pendant light placements that I want spot on :)

Today I saw that the insulation is half finished and while I was there the gyprock and cornices arrived in a truck :)

It will start looking more like a house very soon!!!

I had Dylan go around and scribble out the bad language on our frames. All ready for the walls to go up :)

No Photo update

Went to see the house today with some best friends :)

It was a nice surprise to see the electrical done, the eaves finished and the front post installed.

It was disappointing to see that one random workman (I assume) has written disrespectful comments underneath our bible verses we wrote onto our frames. All I can say is they need to learn to spell a bit better!

Next time I'm there I might just be erasing those words I don't want my kids reading again.

And I'll also get some photos of all the new things. Maybe this week we will see some weatherboard and insulation… I'm really busting to see the weatherboard up!!!

The roof is on!!

Over the last week we had our gutters, fascia and roof put on!

Yay yay yay!

I looove our roof, but it doesn't look too crash-hot at the moment contrasted against the bricks. I wish the bricks were rendered already :( But I will just have to wait a while before we have our finished facade.

Here are some pics of our sexy surf mist roof…

It's been two weeks since I have visiting the block.

Bit of a difference! I saw our bricking being finished off!

I can't wait to see the weatherboard and roof on :) a few more weeks time I guess.

Here are some pics of the bricks. Remember we are rendering after handover, so it's not going to really look much like what the final result will be.

graffiti

We let ourselves onto our block this morning. The kids were pretty excited to see it all starting to take shape. Seeing their rooms, signing the frames and going a bit (or a lot) crazy with the sharpies. Not sure what the builders are going to think come Monday, lol.
Here is an overload of photos documenting the chaos…

Frame is getting there!

I went for a drive today to check out our lovely blue frames that are nearly finished.
Luckily our SS was on-site and he showed me around. He's very nice :)
There were a few things I didn't expect to see.

1. The window in the Home Theatre room is lower than I expected. He checked the measurements and they are correct. I guess it looks fine, it just wasn't what I was imagining.

2. They are putting a bulkhead in the TV alcove space for the a/c unit to sit on! I didn't know that was happening. Not only will the a/c now be sitting out on a bulkhead but the bulkhead comes down so low it is ridiculous. Our SS thinks it might be an error, that they have gone off the plans for a standard ceiling height and not a 2.7m ceiling? He said he will raise the the bulkhead so it's in-line with the tops of the window frames. I'm still not liking that it has to be there at all, but apparently it does, because there are no eaves in that spot on the roof :(

Other than that, everything else looks good in the quick squiz I had. I just can't wait till it looks more like a house… and then I won't be able to wait till it looks more like a home!

Here is the window position in the Home Theatre room. I wish it was a bit higher!

Here is where the frame is coming down too low for the bulkhead in the TV cove.
I hope it's not going to be a problem to raise it!

Frames delivered

During the week I had a call from our new site supervisor.
He said our frames had been delivered and should start to go up next week.
He seems nice. He said after the frames are finished he will let us on site so we can write on the frames with the kids :)

Here is our blue steel!
